Qigong is an ancient practice that dates back at least 4,000 years. It is considered a cornerstone of Chinese medicine. With gentle physical movements, mental focus and meditation, Qigong reduces stress, relieves pain and discomfort in muscles and joints resulting in an increased sense of wellbeing.

Ann Minoff is a certified Qigong instructor with 10 years of experience.

Science Fiction and Fantasy Worldbuilding Workshop

Science Fiction and Fantasy is built on the background of fantastic locations and worlds, and “worldbuilding” is the backbone of that process. Learn the basic aspects of how to create fantastical fiction worlds and locations for both Tabletop Roleplaying Games like Dungeons & Dragons, or for writing Science Fiction or Fantasy fiction. 

This is an ongoing workshop where participants learn about the different ways and tools to worldbuilding and have the opportunity to submit creations to the D&D Club’s campaign world, as well as getting feedback and tips on your own creations.

The social worker in the library program provides information on utility and rental payments, SNAP, career source referrals, and other resources within the County. 

 Scheduled appointments are available on the first and third Tuesday mornings at the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library from 10:00am-1pm. Afternoon walk-in assistance is available from 2pm-5:30pm. 

 Appointments can also be scheduled for the Daytona Beach Regional Library on Mondays and Thursdays and the Ormond Beach Regional Library on Wednesdays. Appointments can be made at the Port Orange Regional Library on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Appointments can be made at the Daytona Beach Regional Library on the 1st and 3rd Friday and the Deltona Regional Library on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month.
