BALANCE CLASS

A Matter of Balance is an evidence-based interactive fall prevention and exercise program developed by Maine Health and the University of Boston. The purpose of the program is to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falls. Participants receive practical coping and falls risk management strategies, and exercises to increase balance and strength.

This two-hour program meets twice a week for four weeks. Participants are asked to commit to all eight classes for maximum benefit. Requirements: 8-14 participants. This class will meet Monday and Friday mornings - 9:30 am - 11:30 am October 2 - October 27, 2017

Presented by the Northeast Florida Area Health Education Center (NEFAHEC), a non-profit organization, which works in partnership with ElderSource to improve the health and well-being of adults ages 60 and over.

Homeschool Class - Olde Florida

This Class for Homeschool students will explore Florida during early stages of development.  Early people will be studied, from Timucuan Indians to settlers, Seminoles, crackers and townies.  Students will learn about early culture through guided lessons, hands on crafts and activities and report writing (or drawing).  Ages 6-16 welcome along with parents.  The final week will include an Olde Florida Potluck meal and project presentations with the rest of the family invited.  This will be both fun and educational.
