A storytime especially for children 3 to 5 years old and their
caregivers. Stories, flannel stories, puppets, songs, rhymes,
interactive & sensory activities, music-making, early literacy
activities and much more! The program usually lasts 30-40 minutes. All
of our storytimes this month will have something to do with health in
honor of our "Health Happens in Libraries" month.
Today our stories will be about the 5 senses: seeing, hearing, smelling, touching and tasting.

How Safe Are We
During the past century, life expectancy more than doubled in developed
countries. However, in the last few decades, 30 new infectious diseases
have emerged. One of them, AIDS, is perhaps the most devastating
epidemic in history. This program examines the most critical threats we
face today and the pressing need to strengthen global public health

for October will have a healthy theme. Simple crafts will be
available from the time we open at 1:00 pm until about 4:00 so children
can attend the movie as well as do the craft if they wish.

Join us in the Launch Pad each Tuesday afternoon for crafts, STEAM and other interesting activities. Space is limited to 12 participants. Pre-registration is suggested. The program is for children in Kindergarten through 5th grades. This week we celebrate Health Happens in Libraries by learning how to play Watermelon Chess. Kids will get to take home their own copy of the game!
