Storytelling duo Wayne and Jane Sims bring 1800s Florida to life with stories of the cattle barons, ranchers, and cow hunters that forged Florida's gigantic cattle industry. This fascinating presentation focuses on the challenge and romance of cowmen who scoured Florida's prairies and swamps to find, herd, and drive cattle to market. Jim Sawgrass is a native Floridian and a member of the Muskogee Creek
Indian Tribe. He has served on the Florida Indian Council from 1991 to 1995 and
has been sharing his knowledge of the Southeastern Native American tribes for
over 30 years. Join us for this Teen program to learn about Native American
culture and heritage in the Southeastern United States. Sawgrass and his son,
Cody Boettner, will teach about the diverse Native American backgrounds with a
series of artifacts. Cody will also perform his famous Native American “Hoop
Dance.” We know you will enjoy this great performance! This program is planned
for 6th-12th graders (ages 11-17), though all ages are
